Cele mai proaste filme ale anului sunt celebrate printr-un singur eveniment: „Zmeura de Aur" care va avea loc pe 23 februarie 2013, cu o zi înainte de decernarea premiilor Oscar. Unul dintre cele mai aşteptate filme ale anului, Twilight este nominalizat la 11 categorii printre care şi cel mai slab actor sau cel mai prost film.

Adam Sandler, care a fost favoritul juriului la premiile de anul trecut se pare că rămâne în top şi în acest an având opt nominalizari. Alte filme care apar pe lista Zmeurei de Aur sunt "That's my boy", "Ghost rider Spirit of vengeance", "A thousand words", "Resident Evil: Retribution" sau "Battleship". Printre actorii nominalizaţi pentru titlul de cel mai slab actor se numără Nicholas Cage, Eddie Murphy, Robert Pattison, iar la categoria actriţe locurile fiind ocupate de Milla Jovovich, Kristen Stewart sau Barbra Streisand.  Candidaturile pentru cel mai prost film sunt Battleship.
